Shehan Center Dodge Ball Tournament


With over three decades of experience in the metals industry, business executive David D'Addario is the chairman and CEO of New Day Aluminum. David D'Addario is also active in charitable works and is an avid supporter of Shehan Center.

Shehan Center is a nonprofit organization that caters to the educational, recreational, and social needs of young people belonging to moderate and low-income families. To serve this purpose, one of the events that Shehan Center will sponsor to raise funds is the Dodge Ball Tournament, which will be held on July 9, 2019, at the InSports Center. The tournament is open to individuals as well as groups. Shehan Center encourages employers to treat their employees to a fun night out by joining the tournament. The proceeds of the event will benefit Shehan Center’s After School and Saturday Program.

The After School and Saturday program offers youth a great way to spend their after school hours and Saturdays by engaging in various activities. Among these are sports such as swimming, basketball, bowling, and hiking, and arts such as coloring, drawing, and painting. There are also opportunities for cooking and playing board games.

Concord Resources Obtains Minority Position in New Day Aluminum


Leading New Day Aluminum since 2016, David D'Addario is an industry executive and expert in the field of metals. Based in Florida, New Day Aluminum assists in the production of both smelter-grade alumina, a key component in the production of aluminum, and chemical-grade alumina, which is used for non-metallurgical and metallurgical purposes around the globe. David D'Addario recently welcomed Concord Resources Limited CEO Mark Hansen to the board of New Day Aluminum.

On October 2, 2018, New Day and Concord announced via press release they had advanced their partnership: Concord Resources obtained a minority interest equity position at New Day Aluminum Holdings, LLC. The parent company of Noranda Bauxite and Alumina, New Day Aluminum Holdings said Concord had been "a key marketing partner" since its inception. 

Concord's significant investment comes on the heels of the completion of two expansion projects at New Day's Noranda Alumina facility in Louisiana and the conclusion of refinancing estimated at $110 million.

New Day Acquires Dutch-based Specialty Alumina Products Manufacturer


Yale University alumnus David D’Addario is a resident of Florida. A commodities veteran, David D’Addario has served as the chairman and chief executive of New Day Aluminum LLC since 2001. 

On October 31, 2017, New Day announced the completion of the acquisition of ARC Fused Alumina by its Dutch subsidiary. The company was purchased from Mircal SA. Mircal was compelled to sell off this operation following its acquisition of some assets from Alteo Holding earlier on. 

Based in La Bathie, France, ARC Fused Alumina produces specialty alumina products such as bubble alumina, white fused alumina, and silicon nitrates. These products can be used in industries like ceramics, abrasives, flooring, and refractory. 

New Day’s purchase of the investment was approved by the European Commission in September. Speaking at the announcement, New Day CEO D’Addario welcomed ARC Fusion’s clients and its 150-member staff to the New Day family. He stated that the acquisition would diversify New Day’s geographic and product portfolio while positioning it for more acquisitions and global integration.

Bauxite Industry Expected to Expand Due to Increased Demand


Based in Florida, David D’Addario is an experienced executive within the metals and recycling industry who guides a number of companies, including New Day Aluminum, LLC, and its Noranda Bauxite and Alumina subsidiary. As reported in Metal Bulletin, David D’Addario participated in the publication’s 24th annual Bauxite and Alumina conference in Jamaica. 

In addition to D’Addario, Jamaica’s Science, Energy, and Technology Minister Andrew Wheatley spoke before attendees. Mr. Wheatley said that the country’s bauxite and alumina sector has a bright future and is poised for growth. He expressed optimism about prospects for investors. 

Mr. Wheatley said that the industry demonstrates significant potential for growth, as alumina benchmark prices have increased and are expected to continue to rise due to strong global demand.

In addition, Mr. Wheatley said that the country’s economic reform program has led to a stable macro environment. As a result, inflation, foreign exchange reserves, and the debt ratio are on the right track.
