Yale University graduate David D'Addario serves as the chairman and chief executive officer of New Day Aluminum, LLC. A prominent executive in the metals manufacturing and recycling industries, David D'Addario led his company’s acquisition of Noranda Bauxite and Aluminum in late 2016, reviving the failing operation.

Due to reduced global demand and falling prices, Noranda was in danger of closing its mining operation in Jamaica and its refinery in Gramercy, Louisiana. New Day Aluminum’s expert leadership and an infusion of $35 million in capital improvements helped Noranda avoid closing its operations and craft a sustainable path forward.

Lifting the economy not only in Gramercy, Louisiana, but also in Jamaica, New Day Aluminum agreed to pay the Jamaican government 17.3 percent of the combined profits of the bauxite mine and the US alumina facility. In addition to this revenue, Jamaica benefits from the preservation of more than 800 jobs related to the mining operation.

Concord Resources Obtains Minority Position in New Day Aluminum

Leading New Day Aluminum since 2016, David D'Addario is an industry executive and expert in the field of metals. Based in Florida, New Day Aluminum assists in the production of both smelter-grade alumina, a key component in the production of aluminum, and chemical-grade alumina, which is used for non-metallurgical and metallurgical purposes around the globe. David D'Addario recently welcomed Concord Resources Limited CEO Mark Hansen to the board of New Day Aluminum.

On October 2, 2018, New Day and Concord announced via press release they had advanced their partnership: Concord Resources obtained a minority interest equity position at New Day Aluminum Holdings, LLC. The parent company of Noranda Bauxite and Alumina, New Day Aluminum Holdings said Concord had been "a key marketing partner" since its inception.

Concord's significant investment comes on the heels of the completion of two expansion projects at New Day's Noranda Alumina facility in Louisiana and the conclusion of refinancing estimated at $110 million.
